AOMORI GOKAN Arts Fest (latter period): 100 Years of KOJIMA ICHIRO

 

The Aomori Museum of Art is pleased to present the exhibition KOJIMA ICHIRO (provisional title) from July 6th to September 29th, 2024.  KOJIMA Ichiro is a photographer born in Aomori City in 1924.  Kojima photographed the Tsugaru and Shimokita regions of Aomori Prefecture from the late 1950s to the early 1960s, expressing his deep empathy for the people living in his hometown into striking black and white photographs. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Kojima’s birth and also the 60th anniversary of his death. Through this exhibition, we will look back anew on Ichiro Kojima’s life and works.
