Reimagined by Aomori Museum of Art: The ballet Aleko
The four backdrops for the ballet Aleko were created by Marc Chagall (1887 – 1985), a leading painter of the 20th century, for the Ballet Theater`s performances of Aleko.
However, they fulfilled this role for the last time at a performance in 1968, and are now exhibited in Aleko Hall at the Aomori Museum of Art.
After more than 50 years, they will once again shine as ballet backdrops this November.
